BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE Guyana-registered vessel that ran aground off the coast of Dieppe Bay last Thursday (Nov. 27), has been dislodged from the reef and is being transported to the St. Kitts Marine Works Ltd. (SKMW) Boat Yard in New Guinea.

SKNVibes has been reliably informed that yesterday (Nov. 30), the vessel – MV Hatuna Matata – was dislodged from the reef.

Regiwell Francis of St. Kitts Marine Works Ltd. (SKMW) told SKNVibes that while there was success in dislodging the vessel from the reef, it was not possible then to remove it from the basin because the conditions of the ocean were not conducive.

The four occupants of the vessel are still onboard and this publication has been informed that the owner of the vessel, Ranesh Lalbacham of Guyana, arrived in the Federation on Saturday and the vessel was captained by Narine Ramarine.

The vessel is expected to undergo repairs at the SKMW’s Boat Yard because of damage caused when it ran aground.

Further information received from this publication suggests that the vessel would be searched, possibly sometime today.
