Mrs. Patricia Hanley affectionately known as Nurse Patsy to the students of the Gingerland Primary School made a donation of some 600 hardcover notebooks and 600 pens to the students of the Gingerland Primary School on Monday 5 September 2005 at the beginning of the school term.

Mrs. Hanley had previously served as a nurse for some 34 years and was stationed at the Gingerland Health Centre for the last ten years where she personally nursed and attended to the children of the Gingerland Primary School.

The donation of the books was her way of giving back something to the students who she has built a very close relationship with.  The Principal of the School Mrs. Marion Lescott accepted the books and distributed them to the more than anxious students.

Many students had not yet had their full complement of books for the school terms so the books were graciously accepted by them.  Mrs. Hanley commented that the stationary was just a small donation on her part in her effort to contribute towards the academic development of the children of Gingerland.
