St. Kitts’ Belle Mont Farm among a list of 10 Amazing Island Escapes this winter

By: Erasmus Williams, Press Release (CUOPM)

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, December 8th 2014 (CUOPM) - St. Kitts’ Belle Mont Farm at Kittitian Hill has been included in a list of 10 Amazing Winter Island Escapes around the world by Vogue magazine online.

Published on November 17, the article includes the property at #4 on its list which only includes islands “with new and newly renovated resorts where summer temperatures always await.”

“For an alternative to the usual sun-and-sand vacation, visit the soon-to-open Belle Mont Farm on Kittitian Hill, a collection of villas and farmhouses set on an organic farm. Opened by Trinidadian social entrepreneur Val Kempadoo, the hotel offers a Saturday-night fish fry with locals in nearby Dieppe Bay and West Indian cooking classes.

Though it’s set in the countryside, the accommodations are anything but rustic. Inspired by St. Kitts’s vernacular architecture, architect Bill Bensley created the wood-shingle guesthouses, which feature private infinity pools, outdoor rainwater showers, and daily farm-fresh produce. More than 100 types of mango grow on the property,” said the article in Vogue.

Vogue is a top international publication that defines the culture of fashion and reaches an online audience of 4.35 million people monthly.

The 10 islands named are (1) St. Barths; (2) Key West, Florida; (3) Phuket, Thailand;  (4) St. Kitts; (5) Galapagos Islands; (6) Anguilla; (7) Tetiaroa; (8)Bali; (9) Turks and Caicos and (10) Maui.
