Government of St Kitts and Nevis to Issue New E Passports to Replace Those Previously Issued Between January 2012 and July 2014

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, December 4th 2014 -- The Ministry of Homeland Security announces implementation of the project to issue new E Passports to replace those previously issued between January 2012 and July 2014.

     

    The project to begin on Wednesday 10th December 2014 and end on January 31st 2015 is one aspect of the ongoing initiative to further enhance the security and integrity of travel documents issued by the Government of St. Kitts and Nevis. This will safeguard against any attempts to use passports issued by the Federation for fraudulent purposes.

    All passports which do not include the place of birth or show a change of name where this has been done are to be returned to the following locations: Passport Office in Basseterre, the Federal Office or the Premier's Ministry in Charlestown, Nevis.

    The E passports held by Nationals, citizens of St Kitts and Nevis residing outside the Federation can be returned through the Country's Missions located in New York, Washington DC, London, Toronto, The Republic of China-Taiwan, Havana Cuba, Kingston Jamaica, Abuja Nigeria, or directly to the offices in Basseterre and/or Charlestown.

    The cost of issuing the new passports will be met by the Government of St Kitts and Nevis until January 31st, 2015 at which time all documents not returned will be cancelled.

    When returning the passports, persons are requested present a valid Government ID and to complete the forms which can be obtained from Health and Community Centres, Post Offices, the Passport Office, the Passport Office, the Federal Office and the Premier's Ministry, in addition to the Federation's Missions abroad.

    The forms can also be downloaded from www.sknis.info

    The hours of operation of the Passport Office will be extended beginning December 10th, 2014 until January 31st, 2015 to ensure that persons are assisted.
