Charlestown, Nevis (Tuesday, December 30, 2014)- The Hon. Patrice Nisbett, federal parliamentarian for Nevis 11 (St. James and St. Thomas) hosted his annual children’s Christmas parties on Christmas Day. Three parties were held simultaneously at the Jessups, Cotton Ground and Franklin Browne Community Centers.
As is customary, scores of children and their parents or guardians came ready to party, and that they did, as they were kept on their toes throughout the three-hour events with great music, food, drink, games and Christmas gifts and general merriment.
Added features to this year’s parties were face-painting and Sponge Bob Bouncing Castles, but the hit of the day came when deserving children received tablets as their Christmas gift. The joyous smiles on the faces of the children spoke volumes about their happiness and satisfaction.
Commenting on the successful parties, the Hon. Nisbett said he is always happy to spend time with the young people of his constituency.
“ I am thankful to the parents who came out and let their children spend time with us on Christmas afternoon,” the popular parliamentarian said.
In thanking those who had worked hard to make the events successful, Minister Nisbett said: “I am deeply appreciative for all the support I have received over the years from those who decorated, did the face-painting and prepared gift bags and the food. I must say without their support and commitment over the years, these events would not have grown into what they have become today.” commented Minister Nisbett.
Minister Nisbett has served the constituency as parliamentarian since 2000, and has brought many tangible benefits to the children such as the recently distributed Dell Latitude 3340 lap tops, and scholarships.
