BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, DECEMBER 31ST 2014 (CUOPM) – Two more cruise ships docked at Port Zante on Wednesday (New Year’s Eve).
Nearly 5,000 passengers were onboard the Celebrity Eclipse and the Mein Schiff 1.
The Celebrity Eclipse arrived from Antigua with 3,030 passengers and a crew of 1196 and departs for St. Maarten, while the Mein Schiff 1 with 1,915 passengers and a crew of 825 docked at Port Zante after arriving from Guadeloupe. It will later sail for the Dominican Republic.
Most of the 4,945 passengers came ashore and went and went on tours of St. Kitts via taxis, the St. Kits Scenic Railway and helicopter.
Some headed for the Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park, Romney Manor and Batik, sea and sun bathing on the beaches, walked around beautiful Basseterre, hiking to Mount Liamigua and to other trails, snorkeling, sailing to Nevis, horseback riding, golfing, casino gambling, shopping and biking while others took time to surf the internet and make contact with friends and family.
The MS Albatros, the Thomson Celebration and the Azura are scheduled to visit on (Thursday) New Year’s Day and the Carnival Valor on Friday.
