It gives me pleasure to be able to wish the people of St. Kitts and Nevis at home and in the Diaspora a very prosperous New Year. I am particularly pleased to extend best wishes to the people of Constituency #8 from Cayon, Keys, Conaree, St. Peters and their environs as we embark on a year filled with hope and opportunity under a new government.
I cannot let any opportunity pass to express my gratitude to the people who have reposed their trust in me and to assure them that I will always work hard to prove that I am worthy of that trust. These past five years I have earned that trust and as we approach a General Election I ask for full support to work for the people.
Many, who lost family members and friends to senseless violence, are still searching for truth and resolution. All of us are still waiting for the economy to work although we recognize that if after twenty years of a Douglas Regime the economy is still not working.
There is no doubt that new vision and imagination are needed and that a careful look at the political platforms shows that Team Unity offers both.
We think about the children and staff who have suffered at the Basseterre High School; or the downgrading of the status of the citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis by our friends from Canada; or the surreptitious conduct being promoted to achieve boundary changes; yet none among us can allow these worries to make us lose sight of a prosperous 2015.
I pray that God will deliver bring us through that valley and that we soar to new beginnings and new horizons for the good of all of our Nationals and Residents
Happy New Year to all
