    The Executive Secretary of the regional United Nations organization, Alicia Bárcena, will show the evolution of the main social indicators in a press conference

     

    (January 23, 2015) -- The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) will present next Monday, January 26, its annual report on the recent evolution of poverty and extreme poverty, income distribution and social spending in Latin America. 

    The document Social Panorama of Latin America 2014 also includes an analysis of the existing gaps in three areas: youth and development, gender inequality in the labor market, and urban residential segregation. 

    ECLAC’s Executive Secretary, Alicia Bárcena, will present this study during a press conference that will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the organization’s headquarters in Santiago, Chile, and will be broadcast live via Internet at the institution’s Web site.
