BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, February 2, 2015 – Proceeding the 5th Edition, and the largest Inception Fete to date, the Inception Fete Team, committed financial support to Operation Future as a way of giving back to the community. Recognizing the role and importance of Operation Future in St. Kitts and Nevis and their efforts to eradicate Gang Culture and Gang Violence, the team handed over EC$5000.00 to Constable Lauston Percival. The handover took place in a small ceremony at the St. Johnson’s Village community Center on Wednesday, January 28th, 2015.
Operation Future is an organization which has successfully championed the cause of eradicating gun violence through reducing delinquency among youth. Programs such as the Prison (Rehabilitation through Music & Art), The Discovery Club, The Back Against the Wall Program and the Creative Youth Academy are all undertakings of Operation Future.
Speaking on behalf of Team Inception, Chairperson, Mr. Anthony Johnson affirmed that they were extremely pleased to support an entity such as Operation Future in their exemplary efforts in social and community advancement.
Officer Percival in brief remarks explained “We are pleased to receive this generous contribution from the Inception Fete Team. They can be assured that the donation would be put to good use especially in regards to our new initiative to ensure more computers, research tools and resources are available to better facilitate our afterschool program.”
Operation Future, now in its 10th year of existence, was initiated by members of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, their goal was to develop an interactive program beginning in the school system. The program was to educate the children about the dangers of youth, crime, violence and drugs.
