March 26th, 2015 -- The Eastern Caribbean Institute of Banking and Financial Services (ECIB) Credit Analysis and Credit Management Workshop took place over the period of 10th to 14th March 2015 at the Training Room of the St. Kitts Nevis Anguilla National Bank Limited.
Twenty-eight participants from across the Federation, comprising of Credit Officers, Supervisors and Managers of commercial banks and other financial institutions were exposed to the r udiments of the theory and practice of sound lending, along with techniques to forestall and manage delinquent accounts.
The workshop focused on understanding and developing the analytical skills necessary to make sound decisions in the lending process. Credit Risk Management techniques were also covered.
Topics covered included Credit Underwriting, Evaluating a Credit Report, Evaluating personal financial statements, Credit Risk Assessment, Establishing and perfecting security interest in collateral, Early Warning signs of problem loans and Re-structuring of loans.The workshop was facilitated by experienced bankers, Messrs Patrick Thomas and Louis Parris both from Barbados.
