March 31st, 2015 -- During a meeting convened at 1:30 pm today, Monday 30 March, at Matheson House, Headquarters of the Brimstone Hill Society, the entrants for the Brimstone Hill Society 50th Anniversary Theme Competition were judged. To be eligible, entries had to be no longer than ten (10) words and reflect the contribution of the Brimstone Hill Society to St. Kitts and Nevis over the past 50 years. The panel of judges were: Mr. Michael Blake (Ministry of Education), Mrs. Novelette Morton (Ministry of Tourism), Mr. Cameron Gill (Brimstone Hill Society).
Eligible entries were judged out of a total of ten (10) points as follows:
* Creativity 4 points
* Theme Relevance 4 points
* Thematic Appeal 2 points
By unanimous decision, the winning entry was submitted by Joshorn Edwards, a Grade Six pupil of the Tyrell Williams Primary School. Joshorn's winning theme is "Celebrating 50 years: Restoring, preserving and managing our heritage". Joshorn shall receive his prize of one Alcatel Tablet, courtesy Lime St. Kitts and Nevis on Sunday 26 April 2015 during the Human Chain and Sunset Ceremony to be held at the Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park. Congratulations to Joshorn Edwards and the Tyrell Williams Primary School.
