BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE are still searching for the assailant and victim of a shooting incident that took place in Newtown over the weekend.
Inspector Cromwell Henry, Police Press and Public Relations Officer told SKNVibes that the incident occurred at approximately 7:36 p.m. on Saturday, April 4.
He explained that the police received a report of the sound of gunshots in the Carty Alley area and, having made investigations, it was confirmed that “there was in fact a shooting”.
Henry said, according to the information he received, no one was injured during the incident, but investigations have revealed the names of both the assailant and the individual at whom the shots were fired.
He added that a search operation was launched to find and arrest the assailant and also to locate the person shot at.
While he did not reveal the identities of the alleged assailant and the victim, the PRO informed that they were both male.
This is the first incident of this nature to have occurred in that area in recent times.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
