SKELEC week of Activities continue with Customer Appreciation Day on Friday May 28th

By: SKELEC, Press Release

SKELEC, May 29th, 2015  -  Up to the mid-week point we have been able to conduct several customer appreciation initiatives.

During the month of May, members of our Customer Service staff have visited a number business around the island to meet and discuss how SKELEC is doing in terms of the service in which we provide them. There are also radio quizzes that’s ongoing during our week of activities.

On Sunday 24th May members of staff celebrated Whit Sunday service with members of the Immanuel Methodist Church in Sandy Point. On Monday, SKELEC engaged with community members in and around its administration building on Central Street to assist in cleaning up the neighborhood. Large bins were placed on Westbourne Ghaut and Sprott Street to assist this venture. Community members were enlightened by this positive initiative. Tuesday and Wednesday we visited the Cayon Primary, Dean Glasford Primary, Sandy Point Primary and Dr. William Connor Primary, respectively, to educate and engage with the students. In this our second year of doing such the interaction section with the children is indeed the highlight of our day. The students were shown presentations on how electricity is made and distributed to their homes to power their electronics and appliances.

Wednesday evening also saw our Customer Service Manager, Ms. Sanshe Thompson, taking the airwaves on the nightly episode of Upfront on ZIZ.

On Thursday, we held our dedication ceremony of the redesigned factory benches at Kittstodarts. The ceremony took place at 3:30 pm with the opening of the new area. SKELEC has adopted the area and will use this as one of its planned community projects.
Friday, May 29th, is our Customer Appreciation Day. We are hoping our customers can visit us and conduct regular business whilst collecting a small token of our appreciation.

On Saturday we take our annual health walk around west Basseterre and back to administration building on Central Street. It will be culminated with a Breakfast, at a cost of $15.00, held outside our offices at Central Street, by the SKELEC Sports and Social Club, Volts & Amps.
