Mid-morning shooting at Five Ways

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE spate of shootings occurring across the Federation continued this morning (May 29) when a vehicle which was travelling in vicinity of the Five Ways junction, Basseterre, was shot at.

     

    The incident reportedly occurred sometime after 10:00 a.m.

     

    Information which was released by Press and Public Relations Officer for the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force Inspector Lyndon David suggests that shortly after the vehicle entered the area, an individual or individuals proceeded to open fire on it.

     

    He said no one was injured during the incident however, a vehicle which was parked in vicinity was damaged as a result.

     

    Unconfirmed reports suggest that two individuals were walking together, from whom the shots are believed to have come. It is however unclear whether both were armed or just one.

     

    Police officers attended to the scene and processed it, collecting items of evidential value.

     

    Inspector David issued an appeal to members of the public who have information relative to this incident.

     

    He encouraged them to contact either the nearest police station or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477(TIPS). He also reminded that information can be given anonymously and would be handled confidentially.
