BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE are seeking the public’s assistance in the apprehension of a 23-year-old man, who they claimed to be “a person of interest” in connection with the breaking into the offices of two cricket associations and stealing a number of computers.
A police communiqué gave the man’s name as Cardie Stapleton of Taylors Village.
Stapleton is said to be dark in complexion, medium built and weighs approximately 139 pounds. He has dark brown eyes with well-kept black hair and is a Kittitian by birth.
The police are asking that anyone who sees him or knows his whereabouts to contact the “Criminal investigation Department at 465-2241, Ext. 220 or 230, the nearest police station or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477 (TIPS). You do not have to provide your personal information and you may be eligible to receive a reward”.
On the morning of Tuesday, April 21, 2015, it was reported that locks on the doors of the St. Kitts Cricket Association (SKCA) and the Leeward Islands Cricket Association (LICA) offices were destroyed.
President of the SKCA Dennis Phillip told SKNVibes that on entering the offices on the day in question, he discovered that they were vandalised and six computers were stolen; two from the SKCA and four from the LICA.
The incident is believed to have occurred between the night of April 20 and the morning of the 21st.
Following investigations into the incident, police had issued a press release on Saturday (May 23), which stated that Kevern Adams of Taylors Housing was arrested and charged on six counts of building breaking and larceny.
