BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE individual who was injured along with Buckley’s resident Dwight ‘Mac11’ Jacobs during last night’s (Jun. 9) shooting is a juvenile, according to information released by the police.

Police Press and Public Relations Officer Inspector Lyndon David issued a release this morning describing the other victim as “a young male” of the Buckley’s Estate area.

SKNVibes was reliably informed that the lad is 14 years old.

Regarding the circumstances of the incident, the police communiqué indicated that both Jacobs and the juvenile were at the Ground Zero Bar/Shop “when an unknown armed assailant entered the shop and discharged a number of rounds…”

SKNVibes understands that both victims fled the scene in different directions and, according to the police press release, they were still being pursued and fired upon while making their escape.

It is understood that Jacobs sustained gunshot injuries to his shoulder and neck while the juvenile was injured in his buttocks and another part of his body.

Both, having sustained injuries, ran to the Joseph N. France General Hospital where they received treatment.

Jacobs reportedly underwent an emergency operation sometime after arriving at the hospital and he along with the juvenile remain hospitalized.

Inspector David told SKNVibes that the last time he checked, no one had been taken into custody in relation to the incident.

The Violent Crime Unit (VCU) is making investigations into the occurrence and “anyone who has any information pertaining to this incident is ask to contact the VCU at 467-1886, 467-1887, or 467-1888, the nearest police station or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477(TIPS).
