BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A male Parray’s Villager is counting his blessings for being extremely fortunate not to have perished in a traffic accident that resulted in the vehicle he was operating flipped and landed on its top.
The incident occurred at about 1:30 yesterday afternoon (Jun. 12) along the Island Main Road which leads to the St. Peter’s area, in the vicinity of the road that runs into the Shadwell area.
Information coming from the Traffic Department indicates that it involved two vehicles - a motorcar owned by Denzil Duporte of Halfway Tree and was being driven by Fitzroy Robinson of Upper Cayon, and a motorjeep, PA8953, owned by Christopher Liburd of Parray’s Village and was being driven by Chris Liburd of the same address.
The alleged circumstances are that both vehicles were travelling towards the New Road area when PA8953, which was in the rear, made an attempt to overtake P3182.
It is said that PA8953 collided with P3182, causing it to end up on the seaside of the road.
As for PA8953, it flipped before coming to a halt on its top on the mountain side of the road.
It is said that Liburd was uninjured but the vehicle was extensively damaged.
A number of individuals who spoke with SKNVibes have marveled at how Liburd managed to survive the crash, exclaiming that he should be grateful and give God thanks for sparing his life.
Just this morning SKNVibes observed that another accident had taken place in the same area, where a motor vehicle was deposited in a ditch on the mountain side of the road.
This media house is unaware of the circumstances which led to that incident or whether any other vehicle was involved.
