BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – APPROXIMATELY one week after the nation was rocked by the alleged rape of a seven-year-old girl, news of the alleged rape of an elderly woman has surfaced.

Information surrounding the incident is sketchy but initial reports reaching SKNVibes indicate that an 88-year-old woman from the Cayon district was raped by a 34-year-old male of the same area over the last weekend.

SKNVibes contacted the Police Press and Public Relations Officer, Inspector Cromwell Henry, who confirmed that the incident did take place and the police are investigating.

A well-placed source explained to SKNVibes that following the alleged incident the aged woman was medically examined and treated.

The suspect, SKNVibes further understands, was arrested, charged and taken before the court. He has been remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison.

Coincidentally, this incident and the other that involves the seven-year-old of Old Road occurred during the same weekend.

The suspected perpetrator in that case, Calvin Doyling (39), was taken before a magistrate and, according to information received by this media house, he was in police custody as further investigations into the case are being made.

    Investigations into both incidents continue.
