Deadline to Register for the SWRF Set for July 4,2015

Person Registering
By: SKNIS, Press Release

Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 01, 2015 (SKNIS): The deadline for applications for the Sugar Workers’ Restoration Fund (SWRF) is drawing near and potential registrants are being encouraged to take advantage of the last field visits.

“We want to make a final appeal to all the communities whether it is in the Basseterre or in the rural areas...to come either at the centres or visit us at the office. We are making the final push so that no one is left out,” said Manager of the SWRF Reginald George.

The dates and times are currently airing on local radio stations. The visits are also designed to allow persons who were not able to make it for the first series of visits to register before the deadline. After registration is closed the review process will begin.

Mr. George revealed that going out into the field was not restricted to particular meeting places but indicated that the office representatives were able to go into persons’ homes to help them register.

“It was necessary for the field officers to go out, speak to them and have them sign the forms,” he explained, noting that once the individual is alive they were encouraged to do so.

For ease of processing, potential registrants are asked to bring along a social security card or an SSMC Medical card.

The SWRF office is located inside the CLICO Building at South Independence Square Street and is opened Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Persons who do not register will not be eligible for consideration for payment.
