By: Staff Reporter, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE Caribbean Premier League is set to host an all-stars charity game at Warner Park this evening (Jul. 2) that would feature celebrities from across the Caribbean and the world, and will also see the Deputy Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis taking part to benefit charities in the Federation.

Celebrities such as Brian Lara, Dwight Yorke, Ian Bishop, Sir Vivian Richards, Darren Ganga, Stefanie and Darren Gough are expected to feature in the Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis XI against Viv Richards XI for a charity here in St. Kitts and Nevis.

Speaking to the members of the media earlier today, Chief Operations Officer of CPL Pete Russel indicated that the game promises to bring fun to the fans at Warner Park and gave his thoughts on the celebrities they were able to attract for the game.

“It is going to be great fun! It is about getting the best of the Caribbean on show. You have Brian Lara, you have Dwight Yorker. We have got some of the old guys in terms of the commentators who will turn their arms. You have got some great players on show.

“Stefanie Taylor...I can’t wait to see her play. I think it will be a lot of fun and I know the Deputy Prime Minister is turning up. He has been practicing and training hard, so it obviously is going to be entertaining. I hope everyone will come out and have a good time.”

Russel also indicated that the St. Kitts-Nevis National Education Foundation is expected to benefit from the game later this evening.

“We are very grateful to be involved. Minister Richards has been in touch with them and hopefully they can do incredibly well out of it,” he added.

The organisers have reiterated that the game would begin at 6:00 p.m. as opposed to 8:00 p.m that was rumoured.
