Mr. Alrick Vincent Warner
By: SPBS, Press Release

SPBS, July 14th, 2015  --  Mr. Alrick Vincent Warner is a Research Fellow (Distinguished Engineer/Scientist) at The Procter and Gamble Company (P&G) where he is highly regarded as the leading printing, ink, and coating technologist. He is considered a key thought leader for both analog and digital industrial printing. Mr. Warner is a 30-year veteran with P&G, responsible for the upstream ink and printing developments and improvements in a number of baby and feminine care-related products and substrates.

He is a popular mentor, and also one of their leading experts on polyethylene films, paper making, and packaging.  Mr. Warner is named inventor of over a dozen key P&G granted patents giving several billion dollar brands a distinct competitive advantage. He has led the development of the Pampers diaper rash guard lotion, Pampers high speed printing, Bounty papermaking and printing.

These breakthroughs have led to significant improvements in consumer preference, profitability and sustainable competitive advantage for such billion dollar P&G brands as Pampers®, Luvs®, Bounty®, Always® and Charmin®.  Alrick is also the founder and leader of the popular P&G Print Expo which brings hundreds of leading global print suppliers to P&G every two years.

Mr. Warner has recently been elected to the board of directors of RadTech International North America.  RadTech is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of ultraviolet (UV) and electron beam (a.k.a. EB or E-Beam) technologies.  "With the rapid emergence of UV and E-Beam in a number of printing, products and packaging applications, we are honored to have Warner’s wide-ranging experience and expertise," said Peter Weissman of Quaker Chemical and president of RadTech’s Board. "We look forward to his leadership as we continue to develop new, enabling manufacturing methods."

Mr. Warner has also contributed to Maxwell House's Freeze dried and fast-roast coffee before joining P&G, while living in Houston, Texas.  In Houston, Mr. Warner founded the Houston Council on Caribbean Affairs, the Caribbean Student Council at the University of Houston, and the ever popular and growing Houston Carnival.

Mr. Warner has served SPBS in many leadership capacities.  He served two terms as Chairman of the Board and two terms as Vice President from 2010 to 2012.  During his tenure as Vice President, SPBS initiated and successfully executed two of its signature fundraising events – the inaugural Awards Banquet in September 2011 and its inaugural Easter Breakfast in April of 2012. Mr. Warner played a dynamic role in ensuring the success of these events even after his departure from the post of Vice President.

Mr. Warner’s signature contribution to the annual awards banquet has been in the form of the production of the banquet/souvenir magazine. He has “given freely of his time and talent” and has “provided sustained support” for the advancement of SPBS from its humble beginning nearly 18 years ago.

Mr. Warner’s commitment to and for SPBS has been demonstrated in many ways.

These include but not limited to:

Improving the governance, fiscal responsibility and operations of SPBS.

Improving the professional look and image of SPBS: the logo, tickets, fliers, business cards, brochure, polo shirts, website, magazine, etc.

Worthy of note also is Mr. Warner’s initiative to use his business contacts and connections to secure the printing of tickets and flyers of all SPBS events without cost to our association.

Mr. Warner’s association with our alma mater did not stop at his graduation in 1974.  Mr. Warner rendered yeoman service to Sandy Point High School as a teacher.  After emigrating from the island, Mr. Warner gave many donations to SPHS in a private capacity. One of his noteworthy contributions to the school was the introduction of “Sarah Pearline Warner, MBE Award” of EC$500.00 given to the male and female students returning the best CXC results. This award was honored annually for well over a decade.

Mr. Warner is deserving of this honor in recognition of his unselfish service to his alma mater, his community and SPBS.  SPBS congratulates Mr. Warner on receiving this award.  He will be honored at the SPBS 5th Annual Banquet in the Bronx, New York on September 5, 2015 at the exquisite Maestro's Ballroom.
