September 1, 2015 – Scotiabank is donating XCD$50,000 to assist the people of Dominica in relief efforts following the passage of Tropical Storm Erika.
“Our thoughts are with the people of Dominica as they recover from the damage caused by the storm and search for their missing loved-ones,” said David Noel, Scotiabank’s Managing Director for Caribbean East. “Scotiabank has been in the Caribbean for over 125 years and along with our employees, we want to contribute to the relief efforts in our sister island.”
Paula Harts, Scotiabank’s Country Manager for Dominica spoke of how the storm had affected the country, saying: “Tropical Storm Erika has had a tremendous impact on the people of Dominica, including our employees and customers. Scotiabank has been in Dominica for over a quarter of a century and we are part of this community. As the country works to rebuild its communities, Scotiabank is committed to showing its support during these difficult times.”
The donation will be made to the Dominica Red Cross.
