Nationals in Toronto to hear from PM Douglas

    BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, APRIL 19TH 2009 (CUOPM) – St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas will bring nationals residing in Toronto, Canada up to date on developments in their homeland.

     

    Nationals will hear first-hand from the St. Kitts and Nevis leader during a visit there on Saturday April 25th 2009.

     

    Information from the Consulate General of St. Kitts and Nevis indicated that Prime Minister Douglas will engage nationals of the twin-island Federation at the Council Chambers of the North York Civic Centre on 5100 Yonge Street from 3 pm. to 6 pm.

     

    Prime Minister Douglas has told overseas nationals, that although they no longer live permanently in St. Kitts and Nevis, “our bonds of kinship and origin transcend both distance and time,” and it was important that he speaks with them during this time of global tumult.
     
     “I want to speak with you directly, and regularly – regarding my government’s unrelenting efforts to promote stability and progress in our country – whatever external challenges may come our way,” the Prime Minister had said in the first of a series of bi-weekly reports to nationals in the Diaspora on YouTube,

    Since taking office in July 1995, the Denzil Douglas Administration has implemented several initiatives to promote accountability, transparency and good governance.
     
    The initiatives include “a weekly radio progarmme “Ask the Prime Minister,”, his monthly Press Conference, Town Hall Meetings, one on one consultations in his constituency offices in Saddlers and St. Paul’s, aand at his Government Headquarters Office and the Prime Minister’s Office website:
