Traffic accident near service station

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AN attempt to exit a service station early yesterday morning (Oct. 17) went wrong, resulting in a two-vehicle collision and one person being taken to the hospital for treatment.

     

    The incident, according to information received by this media house, took place at about 5:45 a.m. near the OJ’s 24 Hour Gas Station in Camps.

     

    The Traffic Department reports that motor Omni bus HA38, which was being driven by Curtis Carey of Tabernacle, was travelling eastward towards Basseterre along the Island’s Main Road while motor car PA387, which was driven by a Cannonier of Ponds Pasture, was making an attempt to exit the service station.

     

    The incident resulted in both vehicle colliding on their right sides with extensive damage being caused thereto.

     

    SKNVibes is not certain of which vehicle the person who was taken to the hospital was travelling in or whether or not other passengers were aboard either vehicle.

     

    Also the extent of injury of the individual taken to the hospital is not known by this media house.

     

    Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
