BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – GUNSHOTS were fired within the Phillip’s Village community this evening (Oct. 20) and a young man, who is said to be residing in the area, was wounded.
The incident was confirmed by Assistant Commissioner of Police Ian Queeley. He however noted that he was not in a position to provide details.
Investigations made by this publication revealed that the incident occurred shortly before 8:00 p.m. at a place called Plum Tree in Phillip’s Village.
Information revealed that the victim, who has been identified as Shakeen ‘Lil Nozzle’ Cranston, was standing in the vicinity of the public pipe when an individual approached and opened fire in his direction, striking him multiple times.
It is understood that he was struck to the lower parts of his body.
A graphic photo of a wounded Cranston lying on the ground in blood-soaked clothing has been making its rounds across social media. However, this publication has taken the decision not to publish the photo due to the sensitivity of the matter.
The Emergency Medical Services was summoned to the scene and Cranston was transported to the Joseph N. France General Hospital, where he is being treated for his injuries.
Although reports reaching this publication suggested that the young man had succumbed to his injuries, SKNVibes has learnt that that information is false.
