BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A Conaree resident was left disoriented and complained of experiencing pain after being struck by a motor Omni bus yesterday (Oct. 26) morning while in his home village.
A press release issued this morning by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force indicated that the accident victim is one “Mr. Lake” and that the vehicle involved bears the registration number HA89, owned and was being driven by Antonio Bradshaw of Atlantic View, Parson’s Village.
Investigations made by this publication revealed that the Conaree resident is David Lake.
“Sometime after 8.00 a. m. (Monday October 26), the Traffic Department responded to a call of a Traffic Accident along the island’s main road in the vicinity of the Ferdinand's Shop in Conaree. The investigation has revealed that omnibus 'HA 89' was travelling from Basseterre towards Cayon and collided with a pedestrian who was crossing the road.”
The police’s communique informed that Lake was transported to the Joseph N. France General Hospital “for treatment and is currently being warded”.
It did not, however, indicate the seriousness of any injury he may have suffered, but this publication understands that following the incident, Lake was somewhat disoriented and complained that he was experiencing pain.
“Inspector Caines, Head of the Traffic Department, echoed a call for drivers and pedestrians to be more cautious on the roads in light of this incident,” the press release concluded.
