Basseterre, St. Kitts, November, 02, 2015 (RSCNPF): Sunday, November 01 was reporting day for the 32 recruits of Training Class '40' of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force.
According to the Deputy Commander of the Police Training Centre, Inspector Eldrin Dickenson, the recruits were ordered to report by 4.00 p.m on Sunday to Police Training Centre in Newtown.
"Day one, or 'Reporting-Day', was a relatively uneventful day for the recruits," said the Deputy Commander and then described what happened on Sunday. "Once the recruits arrived on the compound, they were given time to say goodbye to family and friends prior to 4.00 p. m, and then they entered the training centre barracks, their 'new home', where the recruits selected their bunks, stowed their personal items and became acclimated with the facility for the rest of Sunday. Lights out was at 10.00 p. m."
"A little anxiety sets in the first night," added Inspector Dickenson.
Once initial indoctrination is completed this week, the 32 recruits will commence an intense 26 weeks of Police Training that will transform them into professional Police Officers, ready to fill the ranks of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force.

Station Visits are also conducted and provides an opportunity to see field applications of the principles taught in the classroom. An overview of the Regional Security System is also presented during the training.
Inspector Dickenson shared that class '40' has 21 males and 11 females, who were all recruited locally, with two being from Nevis." He added, in the class are (2) two 'legacy' recruits, persons who are continuing a family tradition of service in the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, and commented, that no special treatment will be afforded to them.
