PM Harris Showered With Love By Constituents On His Birthday

    Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 08, 2015 (SKNIS): Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, was showered with love on Sunday December 06 as the guest of honour at a special church service in celebration of his birthday at Covenant Outreach in Phillips Village.

     

    The federation’s prime minister, who was joined by other government officials, including Minister of Public Infrastructure, Posts, Urban Development and Transport, the Honourable Ian “Patches” Liburd, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of National Security, Osmond Petty and Special Envoy in the Office of the Prime Minister, Michael Powell, was treated to presentations of poetry, dance, song and a special performance by the Constituency #7 Choir. Prime Minister Harris was also presented with a gift basket as a token of gratitude for his stewardship to the country and his constituency by the constituents that he has served for 22 years.
     
    Prime Minister Harris appeared moved by the morning’s proceedings as he expressed gratitude to the members of his constituency saying, “I want to again record my deepest appreciation for the love that this constituency has shown me, from time way back in 1993, when I first offered myself for service.”
     
     “It has been a joy being the parliamentary representative for the people of St. Christopher # 7 and so to all of the people from Belle Vue, Tabernacle, Mansion, Christ Church, Phillips, Molineux, Lodge Village, Lodge Project and Ottley’s Village who have been the bulwark of my support, I say thank you, thank you very much for your support, for all of these years and today I express my deep appreciation and eternal gratitude to those of my constituency who have made this worship so very special. I thank those who participated and did a variety of acts in support of my birthday,” Prime Minister Harris said.
     
    He also expressed gratitude to the Pastor and Prophetess of the Covenant Outreach Church for their hospitality. Speaking specifically to the prophetess, Prime Minister Harris said he was grateful for words of advice and counsel.
     
    Prime Minister Harris pledged his continued service “in humility and in recognition that a special favour has been bestowed on me to serve,” noting his intent to do his “very best always in service of the people of St. Kitts and Nevis.”
     
    After the ceremony, family, friends and constituents were treated to a luncheon at the Constituency Office in Tabernacle.
