Dancehall/Soca Clash On Workers Day

    Basseterre, St. Kitts (April 28th):-The upcoming holiday weekend will be full of much activity as nationals celebrate workers day on Monday which of course is a public holiday. There will be myriad of events over the weekends in support of the historic surrounding the CAMPAIGN FOR CHANGE 2K9. Some of these events include a “Bold in Gold” Rally on Friday afternoon starting at 5pm on Bank Street featuring DJ Fresh. On Saturday there will be a very historic  Campaign for Change 2k9 island-wide whistle stop which  will start at brimstone Hill  at 12 noon and then drive westwards through the island and culminates back in Sandy Point on Pedro Street where there will be another MASSIVE Bold n Gold Rally featuring the Lights Out Band. One of the highlights however for the long weekend will undoubtedly be the huge May Day Family Day being held at the PAM headquarters with the UNTOUCHABLE Soca/Dancehall Clash on then Hill 2. The family day will feature an entire day of activities. The day begins at 7:30am when breakfast will be served by the National Women’s Group. At 12 noon a similar activity takes place again by the Women’s group when lunch will be presented. Following the lunch will be the start of Kidz Fair which begins at 2pm. The Kidz Zone and Kidz Fair has been a very popular segment of the May Day activities and is easily the most keenly anticipated activity for the kids. Along with the Kidz Zone will be various stalls and other activities including lucky dip, crab race and horse and donkey rides.

     

    The main event of the Family day however will definitely be the Soca Band Clash which is expected to be the highlight of the day.

     

    The soca band clash which is being touted as the UNTOUCHABLE soca band clash will feature 3 of the islands top bands including Kollishun, d’Vybz and Small Axe.

     

    The band clash will be followed by a dancehall bashment with Sweet Sister Sensia and DJ Yardie in the PAM hall.
