BASSETERRE (15th December, 2015): The greens of the Royal St. Kitts Golf Club hosted 52 golfers as part of an initiative to promote St. Kitts as an emerging golfing destination.
The golfers arrived on island last week on the cruise ship Le Ponant, on a golf cruise organized by the Le Figaro Magazine. Le Figaro is a top rated magazine in France. The St. Kitts Tourism Authority hosted a reception for the golfers at the Royal St. Kitts Golf Club, after they had played an exhilarating round of golf on the championship course.
The St. Kitts Tourism Authority hosted the group last year and the request was made again to host them again at the Royal St. Kitts Golf Course.
In two years St. Kitts & Nevis will be well positioned to grow the lucrative golf market with four championship courses at Christophe Harbour, Kittitian Hill, Four Seasons and the St. Kitts Marriott.
The global golf tourism market is worth over $17 billion, according to the International Association of Golfing Tour Operators.
