January 5, 2016 – Through the generosity of The Cable, Sugar Mas 44, in particular the Groovy segment of the Soca Monarch has benefitted tremendously from a twenty-five thousand dollars ($25, 000.00) donation to this year’s competition.
In a brief presentation at The Cable, Mrs. Lornlia Matthew, Marketing Manager, expressed the company’s pleasure in contributing to the social aspect of our Country. Mr. Noah Mills, Carnival Chairman, thanked The Cable for partnering with Carnival and said that Carnival cannot happen or be a success unless corporate partners come onboard.
In addition to sponsoring The Groovy Soca Monarch, The Cable also provided free Lightning Fast Internet service to the Carnival committee to facilitate live streaming of Sugar Mas events. The Cable feels very satisfied that collaborating with ZIZ made it possible for persons around the world to view Sugar Mas on the Internet.
To further demonstrate our commitment to Carnival, The Cable has also donated over Forty thousand dollars ($40,000.00+) in cash and kind to the Small Axe Band J’ouvert troupe.
The Small Axe Band and The Cable established a relationship earlier this year when Royston “Mr. World” Wigley, Small Axe’s lead vocalist, penned The Cable’s Lightning Fast Internet jingle. The Cable thought it was fitting to cement that relationship by assisting the band for Sugar Mas 44.
The Cable takes this opportunity to congratulate the Carnival Committee and all participants of Sugar Mas 44, especially Nicha (Nicha B) Byron for capturing The Cable Groovy Soca Monarch and the Small Axe Band for winning the Road March.
