By: Terresa McCall, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A motor omnibus operator who reportedly fell ill while transporting passengers yesterday afternoon (Jan. 7), died before he could have finished plying the route.

SKNVibes received word that Lloyd Stapleton of Buckley’s was travelling along the eastern corridor of the island towards Basseterre when he pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road in vicinity of what was once known as Morgan Heights.

It is understood that Stapleton took this action after not feeling well and collapsed on the outside of the vehicle when he attempted to exit it.

SKNVibes has been informed that Dr. Terrance Drew arrived on the scene and was able to render some assistance to the ailing man. Further information suggests that the Emergency Medical Services also attended to him but he did not survive the ordeal.

Dr. Mervin Laws reportedly pronounced the man dead on the scene.

Information reaching this publication also suggests that a few passengers were aboard the vehicle when the incident occurred.
