Basseterre, St. Kitts (January 11, 2016) – A new year and a new start with fresh faces, is the way Digicel St. Kitts- Nevis has decided to kick off 2016. After a very successful “Feel the Difference” Christmas campaign throughout November and December of 2015, Digicel has committed to carrying this mantra to the New Year and in doing so, has signed on two new brand ambassadors.
Virgil Hodge is a name that is quite familiar to the athletic field in St. Kitts – Nevis. She is the 100m and 200m national record holder, two times World Champion athlete and was a participant in the 2008 Olympics. As Virgil looks towards attending the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil, Digicel has chosen to rally behind her goal and sign her as a brand ambassador.
She exclaimed “I couldn’t be happier to have been signed as a Digicel Ambassador. I look forward to working with the team and making them proud!”
While Virgil is burning up athletics, the other new member to the Digicel family was burning up the airwaves during the recently concluded SKN Carnival celebrations.
Dejour Alexander made his debut in the soca arena last year and since then has been featured on nearly every carnival show that was staged. Dejour not only captivated the hearts of the teens and adults who enjoyed his music but also captured those of the Digicel team and thus, has been made a Brand Ambassador.
This nineteen year old, who hails from Carifesta Village, is quite humble and has a great love for music from a tender age. He was extremely happy when he was approached by the Digicel Marketing Team and declared he has always been an avid supporter to the telecommunications provider on Facebook, even before the contract was signed. Announcement of Dejour’s new role has already garnered dozens of likes and congratulatory remarks from family and well-wishers.
Digicel Marketing Executive, Tishanna Jeffers remarked “Virgil’s performance in the athletic arena and Dejour’s performances during Sugar Mas have spoken for themselves. We at Digicel couldn’t be more excited to welcome them to our family. We look forward to working with both Virgil and Dejour to accomplish outstanding things in their future including community projects and the launch of new promotions and products.”
