Basseterre, St. Kitts, January 12, 2016 (SKNIS): A corporate partner in St. Kitts and Nevis has supported efforts of the Ministry of National Security to safeguard citizens and residents by providing a cheque of US$10,000.
Chairman of Veling Group and St. Kitts Nevis Patriots Cricket Team, Uday Nayak, presented the cheque to Prime Minister and Minister of National Security, Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, on Tuesday, January 12.
“I want to thank you Sir,” Prime Minister Harris expressed. “You have come to St. Kitts and you have been part of the socio-economic landscape. In particular, you have brought the YU Lounge, you have brought your own involvement in the cricket, the Patriots, and we are grateful for that involvement. Indeed we are looking forward to the next 12 months or so to see additional investments in St. Kitts, of a type that would advance us and make us a leader in a range of other areas in the country.”
Prime Minister Harris thanked Uday Nayak for being a good corporate citizen and stated that he recognizes that the Federation as an attractive destination for investment provides an environment conducive to growth.
“The security forces over the last 12 months have had to work extra-ordinarily hard to deliver in the mandate to keep our citizens safe and secure,” he said, while adding that attempts would continue to provide additional support on areas of need and incentives for officers going beyond the call of duty.
Uday Nayak stated that his company has had a long commitment with the Federation and he has been looking forward to support various social causes.
The YU Lounge is a top class private terminal owned and operated by the Veiling Hospitality Group which was founded in 2002 by Uday Nayak and Nirvan Veerasamy. The YU Lounge, St. Kitts, has been in operation since May 2014.
