January 13, 2016 -- The Caribbean Regional Youth Council (CRYC) is proud to introduce its new executive members for the term 2015 - 2017.

Five of the members were elected into office virtually on September 19, 2015, and a subsequent reopening of Nominations led to the successful addition of Ms. Kezia Campbell to the team. The CRYC held its second General assembly in Kingston, Jamaica from the 28th- 30th September, 2015, preceding its first regional partnership with the SALISES 50/50 Youth Cluster of the University of the West Indies and coinciding with Caribbean Youth day.
The new executive officially assumed office on January 1st, 2016, after a transition period of three months, during which time, the outgoing executive members formally introduced the incoming executive to the organization and its operational procedures.
According to their portfolios: Ms. Bulbulia will focus on a number of areas including: gender related issues such as violence against women, high rates of teenage pregnancy, informal unions across the Caribbean and male underachievement. Similarly, Ms. Campbell will continue to build CRYC’s network of partners from the international community, regional governments and private sector. Further, Ms. Lee will focus on the design and expansion of training and development programs with the aim of ensuring that all CRYC’s leaders and its member National Youth Councils (NYC) across the region are equipped with the tools, skills and support needed to function effectively. The new executive endeavors to establish and strengthen NYCs throughout the region, under the leadership of Mr. Tijani Christian. As the incoming Chair, Mr. Christian will continue to work towards the increased participation and involvement of youth in decision making at all levels of governance in the region.
The first order of business by the enthusiastic and ambitious youth leaders was a request for the submission of applications from persons interested in serving on individual sub committees. These include committees to spearhead undertakings relating to Members & Partnership, Policy & Advocacy, Training & Development, Information & Communication and Resource Mobilization. The application form can be obtained from the website of the Caribbean Regional Youth Council at caryc.org and submitted to info.cryc@gmail.com.
The 2015 - 2017 executive takes this opportunity to extend a heartfelt thank you to the NYCs throughout the region and its partners for their support throughout this process. The executive looks forward to a successful term in furtherance of the youth agenda throughout the region.
