BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A man who was operating a motorcycle yesterday afternoon (Jan. 16) is hospitalised after the bike careened on the island’s main road and ended up at the bottom of a cliff in the Cayon area.
SKNVibes understands that the incident occurred early in the evening while the man, Alston Estridge of Upper Cayon, was travelling towards Basseterre’s direction.
Reportedly, while in the vicinity of the Church of God of Prophecy and Gumbs Auto Parts, he lost control of the motorcycle and it ran over a cliff. Both the man and the motorcycle were deposited among pieces of concrete and vegetation.
Estridge is said to have been transported to the Joseph N. France General Hospital in an unconscious state, and this publication understands that he went into surgery shortly thereafter.
The state of his injuries is however unknown at this time, but SKNVibes has learnt that he is currently in the Intensive Care Unit.
Investigations into the incident are being made.
