BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A Cayon resident, whose name was given as Alonzo Dore, was robbed last night (Jan. 18) of a quantity of groceries and a sum of US and EC currencies.
Reports reaching this publication state that at about 9:30 p.m. while Dore was driving a rental (R357) along the island’s main road towards the Sandy Point direction), a gray Suzuki motorcar without number and with three occupants drove into his path and forced him to stop.
The armed, masked men then reportedly exited the vehicle and robbed him of a quantity of groceries, US$800 and EC$600.
The incident is said to have occurred in the vicinity of Brimstone Hill.
When contacted, Commander of ‘B’ Division, Superintendent Cromwell Henry confirmed the occurrence and stated that the police were informed and the relevant Units were dispatched to the crime scene.
Henry also stated that the scene was processed but so far no one has been held in connection with the robbery. He however declared that investigations are ongoing.
