BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – ARMED bandits on St. Kitts have struck again, and this time their targets were a number of patrons who were within a bar in Newton Ground.
According to the police, at about 10 o’clock last night (Jan. 22), two masked men armed with handguns had robbed several persons who were in the Body Slam Bar in Newton Ground.
One individual reportedly suffered minor injuries during the robbery, but not gunshot, and was later treated at the Pogson Hospital in Sandy Point.
Ongoing investigations by officers of the Sandy Point Police Station revealed that one of thieves was described as being “six feet in height and thick, and the other about five feet six inches in height and slim”.
The investigating officers are once again seeking the public’s support in apprehending the two men.
“If you were in the area of the Body Slam Bar between 9.30 and 10.00 p.m. on Friday night and may have seen any activity, please contact the police. What you may have seen could be of value in solving this crime.
“Persons who may have information on this incident or any other criminal activity can share the information by calling the Sandy Point Police Station at 465-6261, or any other police station or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477(TIPS),” a police statement read.
Just four days earlier, three masked, armed men had robbed a male Cayon resident of a quantity of groceries, US$800 and EC$600.
The incident took place at about 9:30 p.m. along the island’s main road in the vicinity of Brimstone Hill while the man, whose name was given as Alonzo Dore, was driving a rental towards Sandy Point.
Investigations into this robbery are also ongoing.
