BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – WITH the recent increase in stop and search, illegal drugs eradication and intelligence-led operations, members of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force have so far achieved a relatively high degree of success.

Their recent success was the arrest of three individuals in the Sandy Point area for suspected burglary.

According to a police communiqué, a search warrant was executed on a residence at Farm’s Site in Sandy Point on Saturday (Jan. 23), which resulted in the find of a number of electronic devices, including cellular phones and television sets.

Some of the items have since been positively identified by the owners whose homes were burglarised. One of the places burglarised was a church in Sandy Point.

A small quantity of leaves, stems and seeds suspected to be marijuana were also found on the premises.

The communiqué pointed out that the search of the residence was as a result of the progress made by officers of the Sandy Point Police Station in their investigations of two burglaries.

The three persons in custody are said to be the occupants of the house and charges are expected to be laid against the shortly.

Commenting on this recent success, the Divisional Commander, Superintendent Cromwell Henry is quoted as saying: “This was the result of intelligence-led policing and the use of forensics to solve crime.”

He thanked the officers of ‘B’ Division for their continued commitment to the task of making the Federation a safer place to live and work, while reminding members of the public that the police alone could not fight crime and they should provide the institution with information on any criminal activity by calling any police station or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477 (TIPS).
