Basseterre, St. Kitts, January 26, 2016 (RSCNPF): The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force continues to be an attractive career option for many of our nation's young men and women and on Monday(January 25) Ericia Nisbett of Newtown, Elrick Prentice of College Street and Lajuane Yearwood of McKnight, took their oath of Enlistment in a brief but symbolic ceremony at Police Headquarters.
The two males and one female were administered the oath of Enlistment by Commissioner (Ag) Stafford Liburd in the presence of Assistant Commissioner of Police Mr. Vaughan Henderson, Force Personnel Officer, Clifford Govia, Superintendent of the Police Training School Supt. Lionel Moore and a few other Gazetted Officers.
Commenting on their decisions to enter the Police Service, the new recruits collectively stated, "we want to make a difference in our communities and serve our Federation, St. Kitts and Nevis."
Force Personnel Officer, Mr. Clifford Govia reminded the new recruits that they are now role models in their communities. He added, "I also encourage you to embrace the three "F's" in your service, Be Firm, Be Fair and Be Friendly. Govia also thanked them for selecting to serve our Federation.
Commissioner(Ag) Stafford Liburd in speaking to the recruits commended them on their decision to enlist in the Police Service. He said, "this is a noble profession," and "I am heartened to see that all three of our recruits are from areas that are a concern with regards to crime. You coming forward to serve at this time is commendable and I hope it will be a motivating factor for more young men and women to come forward and serve our Federation."
The enlistment of these three recruits continues the recruitment of the next batch of recruits to be trained later this year and comes on the heels of class "40", a class with 32 recruits which began in November, 2015 and will graduate in July/August 2016.
