BASSETERRE, ST KITTS (SKNLPCU) – The opposition St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party said Wednesday the people of the twin-island Federation are not happy with the administration of the PLP/CCM/PAM coalition government and will protest its shortcomings next week Friday.
Chairperson of the Labour Party and Parliamentary Representative for St Christopher 2 (Central Basseterre), Hon. Marcella Liburd announced Wednesday that the party has applied to the Police to hold a public meeting on Thursday 18th February and a march on Friday 19th February.
“It is time for us to show the government and the world that we are not pleased at all with many of the things that have transpired over the last year. Next Friday we have asked for permission to peacefully show our discontent with this government of St Kitts and Nevis,” said Konris Maynard, Labour’s Parliamentary Representative for St. Christopher 3 (West Basseterre).
“Those of you who are affected Those of you who have family members that are affected. Those of you who are concerned about the well-being of this country and the journey that it is on or the path that it is on, I ask you to come out and support. Raise your voices in protest of what this government is doing,” Maynard told listeners to the popular “Issues” programme on Freedom FM 106.5.
