BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – ANTIGUA Soca darling Claudette Peters delivered a crowd-pleasing performance Monday (May 4) during the annual Labour Day celebrations.
Peters performed at the Patsy Allers Playing Field and, according to a young man, she was very energetic.
“She asked the people in the crowd what they wanted to hear and as they shouted the songs…she sure delivered them one by one,” he said.
He said even though the rain interrupted the performance and the singer decided to call it quits, “all in all it was still a good one”.
Amongst the songs she performed was her big hit, ‘Go Claudette Go’, and the song that won her the Soca Monarch title in 2008, ‘Bring it on’, She also gave a taste of what is to come for 2009.
This soca diva first made her mark on the regional and international soca scene with her hit single ‘Something's Got A Hold On Me’ with Da Bhann in 1994. Since then, she has had a hit every year including ‘Make Waves’, ‘Showtime’ and ‘Go Claudette Go’.
