KINGSTON, Jamaica - MISS MONEY-O Macka Diamond is still focused on her music and has recently released a new hit single titled ‘Think about It’ featuring Unicorn and will also appear in an upcoming film.
The movie, Redemption Paradise, according to one media house, started filming in January in Antigua and has recently wrapped up and should be premiering in theatres all across the Caribbean as early as this summer.
Macka Diamond, whose real name is Charmaine Munroe, told another media house that she plays the role of a middle-age woman who has a grown daughter who lives in the garrison (the ghetto).
Her daughter’s boyfriend was killed, she got involved and she too was killed; so Macka Diamond goes out to get revenge.
“They said it would be ready by August to premiere but I haven't heard from them. All I know that it was fun shooting it. It was a hectic, crazy two weeks. I learned a lot of new things, especially how to hold a gun and perform stunts and to play-fight.
“There is a scene where I get shot up and end up in a wheelchair. It is a fast-paced story and my fans are going to be surprised at how this turns out. My director and my camera crew said that I did a really good job, so I am just excited to see the end product. The producers said that it is going to make a big impact when it premieres all over the Caribbean," Munroe told One876entertainment.
Macka Diamond is known for her hit songs like ‘U done aready’, ‘Bun him’ and ‘Hula-hoop’.
She was recently nominated for Best Female Artiste in this year's Excellence in Music & Entertainment (EME) awards, but lost to fellow artiste Spice.
