BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – CHRISTOPHE HARBOUR has defied a gloomy outlook as the company continues its development on the Southeast peninsula as scheduled, notwithstanding the ongoing global economic crisis.
Speaking at a media briefing yesterday (May 6), the company’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) Le Grand Elebash reported that all the sub-projects within the master plan are progressing favourably and that sales of the private residential spaces are showing much promise.
“We’ve got roughly 40 sales made today in the Sandy Bank Bay neighbourhood, which is extremely encouraging given the challenging economic environment that we are faced with today.
“We are excited to say that the construction of homes at Sandy bank Bay continues at a very healthy pace and we’ve seen great progress in the construction of the first home. We continue to shape the earth at Priddie’s Plateau in anticipation of the installation of the Tom Fazio golf course. The first phase is now roughly 50 percent complete and should be completed by August,” Elebash declared.
The COO revealed that the company launched a multi-million dollar international marketing campaign earlier this year to attract more buyers. He noted that “positive signs of economic recovery in the United States” would be helpful to the project, as individuals may be encouraged to purchase property in the development project.
“We see some glimmers of hope and recovery on the economic horizon which we find to be very positive and encouraging. We have launched this year a multi-million dollar international marketing campaign designed to reach buyers across the US as well as in the UK and in Canada. So, we continue to invest heavily in marketing,” Elebash said, adding that such marketing would benefit the local economy immensely.
Elebash said that around the end of May the company would be awarding the contract to begin construction of infrastructure for the project as work continues as planned. He informed that as the company continues to blossom, it would seek to expand its charitable outreach as it reaffirms its commitments to the government and people of St. Kitts.
