CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – JUST one day after the partly-decomposed, bullet-riddled body of 17-year-old Tyrique Duncan was discovered on a dirt road in Hermitage Estate, Cayon, a male resident of Cherry Gardens in Nevis was killed last night (Mar. 11) on that island.
Dead is 39-year-old Mark 'Pressy' Williams, who is said to hail from St. Kitts but was residing in Cherry Gardens at the time of his demise.
A police report stated that initial investigations by the Violent Crimes Unit revealed that Williams was shot multiple times by a lone, masked gunman at about 7:47 p.m. in Rawlins Village.
Williams was rushed to the Alexandra Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The police are appealing to anyone who might have information leading to the apprehension of the gunman to call any police station in the Federation or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477 (TIPS). This, they said, could be done anonymously.
Williams’ death has taken the number of homicides recorded in the twin-island Federation for the year to nine; two on Nevis and seven on sister isle St. Kitts.
The first homicide victim was former St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force member Vance Dore of Upper Cayon. He was reportedly killed by two masked assailants at about 8:30 a.m. on Thursday (Jan. 14) in the Upper Cayon area.

He was reportedly missing early Thursday morning (Jan. 28) and his partly-decomposed body was found by his younger brother three days after some 33 yards off the main road that leads from Stapleton Village to Ogees Village.
The seventh victim was St. Kitts and Nevis Fire and Rescue Services member Javier Caines of St. Paul’s Village, who was shot shortly before 11:00 p.m. on Saturday (Mar. 5) while in a vehicle with two other men on the island’s main road in Sandy Point.
And the eight homicide victim was 17-year-old Tyrique Duncan of Spooner’s Village, who went missing on Sunday (Mar. 6). His partly-decomposed, bullet-riddled body was found on Thursday (Mar. 10) along a heavily-grassed dirt road in the Hermitage Estate area.
