BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – REPORTS reaching this publication state that Devon ‘Gunny’ Jarvis of Lodge Village, St. Kitts was yesterday (Mar. 12) officially reported missing to the police on Nevis.
A police communiqué stated that the 22-year-old was last seen in Nevis on or about Sunday (Feb. 28).
This media house learned that Jarvis was seen on that same day with a female national of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, who allegedly resides somewhere in Westbury, Nevis, but no information was forthcoming on her whereabouts at this time.
Jarvis is said to be brown skinned with brown eyes, slimly built, five feet nine inches tall and sports plaited black hair.
SKNVibes had heard of the incident since yesterday but could not have confirmed that Jarvis was missing despite numerous calls to some members of the Police High Command, which were unanswered.
Contact was however made with a source close to the police.
After passing on the information that was fed to this media house, the source opined that investigators should seek to find out if Jarvis had flown or sailed out of the Federation and that they should contact the immigration authorities in St. Vincent and the Grenadines to ascertain if he had checked in with them.
A call to the Charlestown Police Station was also made yesterday to find out if a missing report of Jarvis was made, and an officer responded in the negative.
The police are requesting that anyone who has information pertaining to his whereabouts to contact the Charlestown Police Station at 469-5391, the Basseterre Police Station at 465-2241 or the nearest police station, or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477 (TIPS).
Jarvis is the second person to have been reported missing in as many days.
Yesterday, 41-year-old Michael Richards of New Road was reported missing but a police communiqué has since informed that he was found sometime this morning.
