Get ready to fly through the sky…with Sky Safaris!

By: VonDez Phipps, SKNVibes

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THRILL SEEKERS and adventure lovers can satisfy their urge for an adrenaline-pumping flight through the rainforest after tomorrow’s (May 9) official opening of Sky Safaris Tours, situated at Romney Manor, Old Road.

The official ceremony begins at 9:00 a.m. and is expected to bring together representatives from the parent companies Delisle Walwyn, Greg Safaris and Skyline Eco-Adventures as well as government officials and partners of the company. Guests will subsequently gear up and get ready to fly across the Wingfield River in the newest and, by far, most exciting way to tour the rainforest.

Speaking exclusively to SKNVibes, General Manager Crystel-Rayne Tomma said tours would be open to the public from 2:00 p.m. The first 24 guests would be given free tours and all others would benefit from a 75 percent reduction in rates, giving them a chance to fly through the sky for as little as US$30. Check-in for the afternoon public tours ends at 4:00.

“The feeling is surreal; it really can’t be described until it is experienced! Guests can look forward to an exhilarating zip-line experience through the rainforest as they would be open to panoramic aerial views of the landscape. There is a trolley with harnesses connected to the cable which makes it very comfortable for visitors to fly from one hill to the other over the valley,” Tomma said.

Full moon tours will also be offered for guests who are seeking a romantic yet adventurous moonlit rainforest tour. These tours begin at 7:30 p.m. and all interested patrons are asked to book early in order to secure a space in the unique experience.

“In the moonlight, the experience is extremely different! Not only will you be flying about 250 feet above the valley floor, but you will also be flying under full moon! Guests are bound to return after this tour,” Tomma added.

The General Manager said the new service is an “amazing addition to the island”, adding that locals and tourists alike would be able to benefit from the tour. She claimed that the history of the site, friendly and trained staff and uniqueness of the tour are bound to give any guest an experience of a lifetime!
