By: St. Kitts Tourism Authority, Press Release

BASSETERRE (30th March, 2016): The vital cruise sector of St. Kitts buzzed with activity as four cruise ships visited the destination today, bringing more than14,000 visitors.

Calling on St. Kitts today were the Oceana, Carnival Breeze, Celebrity Silhouette and the Costa Favolosa, with a combined capacity of 14,146 passengers.

Minister of Tourism, International Trade, Industry and Commerce, The Hon. Lindsay F.P. Grant said stakeholders of the cruise sector must ensure that the passengers and crew from these ships have a truly special experience on St. Kitts.

“This is really a great opportunity for us. I am anxious that the passengers experience the beauty of our island, the warmth of our people and our rich and diverse culture,” Minister Grant said.

This cruise season continues to be punctuated with a number of major highlights. Last week the world largest cruise ship, the Oasis of the Seas, visited St. Kitts for the first time, bringing more than 6000 passengers.

Already for the season, St. Kitts has received 17 inaugural ship calls.
