Bandits hit FedEx warehouse

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE robberies which began last Friday (May 20) continued into the weekend with the latest reported incident taking place at the FedEx Courier Services’ warehouse.

     

    A press release issued by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force today (May 23) informed that the incident occurred sometime between Saturday and Sunday when “an unknown person(s) entered the building and had access to a number of packages being held on site.”

    SKNVibes understands that the individual(s) had removed some zinc sheets to gain access into the C.A. Paul Southwell Industrial Site building, but it is not known if they made good their escape via the same route or an alternative.

    This publication telephoned FedEx and, having identified the media house, questioned the attendant about the incident and he indicated that he could not speak about it.

    The police communiqué however informs that the scene was process by investigators and checks are being made to ascertain what, if anything, was removed from the warehouse.

    “The staff of FedEx is reviewing inventories to identify any missing items. The scene was processed by Investigators from the Criminal Investigations Department and the Crime Scene Unit and the investigation is ongoing.”

    On Friday morning, MoneyGram was robbed and in the afternoon Gillard’s service centre, located just in front of the JNF General Hospital, was also robbed. Investigations into these incidents are also ongoing.
