BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – AN early morning shooting in Molineux Village has left a woman dead and her boyfriend nursing gunshot wounds at the Joseph N France General Hospital.

Icilma Francis of Edwards Lane, New Ponds Site was this morning (May 17) pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital and, her boyfriend, Ras Benjie of the same address, is being treated for gunshot wounds to his hand and leg.

On arrival at the hospital at about 3:45 this morning, SKNVibes saw the lifeless body of Francis within a vehicle parked in front the entrance of the medical institution as police officers were conducting investigations.

Speaking with the daughter of the deceased, Linda, this media house was told that the shooting occurred at approximately 3:00 a.m. in Molineux while Ras Benjie was driving his vehicle.

“We were at a club in Molineux, and when the vehicle was moving off a man appeared and started shooting at the vehicle,” Linda said.

The distraught young woman said she was seated in the rear of the vehicle when the shooting took place and she does not know the reason for the gunman’s action, but “now I am left without a mother”.

Icilma Francis’ death has taken the total homicides committed in the twin-island Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis for the year to 11.

    Investigations are ongoing.
